In August 2026, guest Anita Telle traveled from Scottsdale, Arizona, for a weekend at Sky Village. Her trip included the architecture of Sky Kiva and Star Tower, stargazing beneath the Milky Way, a visit to the working ranch, and day trips through some of the Four Corners’ most memorable landscapes.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Adventure — Where Memories Are Made and the Soul Finds Peace

I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Our weekend at Sky Village in Cortez, Colorado was nothing short of outstanding.

The experience begins before you even arrive. Driving up the winding road, surrounded by enormous boulders and incredible views, you immediately feel as though you’re leaving the everyday world behind. Then you reach Sky Kiva and Star Tower—two remarkable dwellings designed with the feeling and spirit of ancient civilizations. Absolutely stunning.

And then came the little details. Even a personalized plaque welcoming us by name made us feel special from the moment we arrived.

Walking inside our home for the weekend was an experience in itself. The architecture, beautiful artwork, natural travertine stone, handcrafted details and Southwestern character made the entire place feel warm, authentic and completely unique. And that VIEW! Looking across the valley toward the mountains, with the dancing Native American sculpture silhouetted against the landscape, was simply magical.

Outside, hummingbirds entertained us—and made it very clear that their feeder belonged to them! 😂 As evening arrived, the sky became something I will never forget. With almost no light pollution, the stars seemed endless. We could actually see the Milky Way stretching across the night sky. It was breathtaking.

And after all that exploring, the king-size bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Truly, we couldn’t think of anything the house was missing.

The next morning we drove down to Canyon of the Ancients Guest Ranch, and another adventure began. Rustic log cabins, beautiful stone buildings, little lambs bouncing around, cattle, chickens and big friendly dogs greeting us—it gives you the wonderful feeling of being part of a real working ranch. We even treated ourselves to a lovely massage.

The location also couldn’t have been better for exploring this extraordinary part of the Southwest. We took day trips to Mesa Verde National Park, Bluff, Utah, downtown Cortez, ancient ruins and petroglyphs, and Goosenecks State Park—all within comfortable driving distance.

But what makes this place truly special is difficult to put into words.

There is a peacefulness here. A warmth. An energy that somehow makes you slow down, look around and appreciate where you are.

This is a place where memories are made, your heart fills with joy, and your soul finds a little peace.

Some places you simply visit.

Sky Village is a place you feel.
